Bio-gas Maintenance at Sudal and Dhading

JAFS / AFS - Nepal has been working in Sudal and Dhading from a very long time related with Bio-gas. JAFS / AFS - Nepal have built Bio-gas plants to many households to turn farm manure into Methane gas for cooking. But after the massive 25th April Earthquake, many of the plants were not able to use and some were badly destroyed. Moreover, Nepal has been facing the Blockade from 23rd September, 2015 which not only choked the imports of petroleum, gasoline, but also medicines and earthquake relief materials.

Understanding these problems, we made a decision to maintain it. So at first, our AFS - Nepal Project Coordinator, Mr. Om Krishna Tandukar along with the volunteer members over-viewed the sites and bio-gas plants. Then after, people were given a form to fill up about their information and condition of bio-gas after the earthquake. As per the report, there were total 112 Bio-gas plants at Sudal and 103 Bio-gas plants at Dhading that should be maintained.

So after finalizing the sites, we started to proceed the maintenance of those 215 Bio-gas plants in total.
