December work camp 2015



Report from 27th December to 31st December, 2015

Usually on December we do work camp for the students from different schools relating to Environment, Health, General knowledge etc where all the students from different places (Pithauli, Sudal, Chunikhel etc) are gathered. But, this time due to Gasoline crisis and other, JAFS Deputy Director Ms. Noriko Atsuta Malla thought of going to each schools and taking the class of the students learning in class 4, 5, 6, and 7. Other JAFS members were also involved in this camp i.e. Ms. Namiko san and Ms. Noriko san.

27th December: As per the Plan the first day Camp was done in Shree Naulin Secondary School located at Chunikhel, Kathmandu. As soon as we reached their JAFS Deputy Director Ms. Noriko Atsuta Malla  Started taking class of the students of grade 5 and 7 relating to Environment, its Importance, how it is polluted, what are our roles on it and so on? The students showed their active participation on it. Meanwhile, after launch break students were taught to write different kinds of Japanese words by Ms. Namiko san and Ms. Noriko san taught Origami to the students. In, the end of the session, five students were chosen as the leaders where they have to make their 1 year goal which will be beneficial to their school. This Program was successfully completed and the students were also given some stationary kits.

Sight visiting at Sudal
28th December: On the second day of the camp, firstly we went for the sight visit of Bio-gas in Sudal. Then, we moved towards Swet Barahi School. There too Ms. Noriko Atsuta Malla taught the students about Environment where the students were very Co-operative and interactive towards her. After Launch Breaks Ms. Namiko san taught to write different kinds of Japanese words to the participants and Ms. Noriko san taught Origami. The students enjoyed a lot learning new things. In the end, Ms. Noriko san and Ms. Namiko san donated some Recreational kits for the school which will be beneficial for the students.

29th December: On the Third day of camp, we headed towards Bhotsipa, Sindhupalchok District. On this day firstly we visited Saraswoti School where we were warmly welcomed by the school. The JAFS members donated Recreational kits for the school which will be beneficial for the students. Then every student were given pencils. As the time was limited JAFS Deputy Director Ms. Noriko Atsuta Malla, Ms. Namiko San and Ms. Noriko San took different classes for Origami, Using paint Brush and Japanese culture of writing a wish in a paper and then tying it in a tree.

After all this we headed towards Jaleshwori School where we were welcomed by the teachers as well as students. Every students were given School kits by JAFS/AFS- member. Only the girls students were given Panties. This day we spend one night in Bhotsipa village.






30th December: Early Morning after Breakfast we went for the sightseeing of the water project sights and Brick Factory which is supported by JAFS. After this we went to Bal club (ECG class) and distributed bags, stationary kits and other items to the children studying there. Then we distributed blankets to the old aged people and some sleeping bags by Mont-Bell for the old - aged people. After all this we headed towards Kathmandu as Chandeswori School is on the way so we had a sight visit there.





31st December: On this day, we went to Bhaktapur TRH site and distributed some blankets to the families staying there and then we went to the victims affected by Earthquake staying there in TLC. There too we distributed Blankets for the Old Aged People. In the noon time, we went for the sightseeing at Bhaktapur Durbar square.

It's been more than six months that people are still reeling from the 25th April Earthquake and its aftershocks. Moreover, monsoon was also near. So, we decided to distribute warm blankets to the old-aged people to fight against cold in Bhotsipa, Sindhupalchok and Inacho, Bhaktapur

We distributed some blankets and sleeping bags from Mount-bell company to an old-aged people at Bhotsipa VDC, Sindhupalchokand and blankets at Inacho, Bhaktapur and at our Temporary House Site i.e at Nalinchok, Chitapol and Old Jagati, Bhaktapur. The earthquake took much from them and warm blankets will be a big assistance to them They were very happy to receive from us.

We also distributed some school bags, woolen caps, handkerchiefs, masks, toothbrushes and stationery kits like pencils, copies, erasers and colors to the pre-primary students.
